Location
Nestled in a scenic valley, our handcrafted shepherd's huts are situated on a working farm, just outside the historical village of Blanchland. Run by the Herdman family, on the border of Northumberland and County Durham, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Historic towns Hexham & Corbridge are a short 15-minute drive away.
Overlooking the Derwent Reservoir, this tranquil area offers everything from scenic walking routes for all abilities to enthralling leisure activities such as water sports, golf, fishing and outdoor pursuits.
Our Shepherd Huts
Our idyllic site is home to two fully self-contained Shepherd’s Huts, each with a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and dining area. Purpose built storage cupboards and an airy design ensure guests have ample space for cooking, dining and relaxing. Both huts are fully fitted out with electrical points, hot water, lighting and heating, including a fireplace.
A cosy double bed allows you to lie beneath the roof lantern and watch the clouds go by during the day and stargaze by night, providing the perfect night’s sleep. The huts offer a spacious ensuite with shower, sink and WC. Outside, the warming firepit doubles up as a convenient BBQ and seating ensures you can enjoy peaceful evenings and incredible views.
Amenities
The kitchenette is fully equipped with a fridge /freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and induction hob. Everything you need for cooking and dining can be found in the cupboards and with a spacious living area you have the opportunity to snuggle up on the sofa or enjoy a meal at the table, both can be stored away where space is required.
Other amenities include a TV, towels, hairdryer, bed linen, toilet rolls and BBQ utensils.
Homemade breakfast baskets and logs are available to purchase prior to your arrival.

What an absolutely wonderful place. Everything about this place is spot on. The hut is beautifully done and is spotlessly clean. You're getting a better shower in a shepherds hut in a field than you do in so many hotels. The 'bedroom' is just fantastic and staring up at the stars is the best way to fall asleep. Everything about this place is just perfection!
